Using Numbers in Writing

For some reason, one of the most difficult grammar topics to commit to memory is the set of rules pertaining to using numerals in writing. Perhaps that's because the rules don't seem strict enough; instead we get wishy-washy "general" rules or "guidelines" for numbers.

So what can you do? As with anything, read and study the rules several times, and, eventually, it will all seem natural enough.
