Should You Try Independent Study?

Tuesday November 28, 2006
Sometimes students need more that they can find in their own high schools!

If you have a burning desire to learn about ancient medical techniques, Roman architecture, or Southern folklore, you may want to investigate the possibility of signing up for an independent study course.

Some courses come pre-packaged from respectable colleges and universities. You can try one of those, but those courses are mostly the typical, run-of-the-mill liberal arts courses. They're also pretty expensive! If those don't work for you, you may want to design your own course with the help of a nice teacher or counselor.
