Using Flash Drives

Sunday January 7, 2007

Have you used a flash drive yet? They come with many names, like keychain drive, memory stick, and USB drive, and they have many uses, as well. A flash drive is a small device that you can use for saving your work and transporting it from place to place. It's about the size of a pack of gum, but it can be a lifesaver!

If you're working on a group project or you'd like to show your project to a friend or teacher for feedback, the flash drive is a great option. Just save your work and carry it to another computer to open it or print it out.

The down side? No surprise, the small size can also be a problem. Anything that small is easy to lose! Your best bet is to attach the device to your book bag or key chain. Most of them come with a clip. Also, don't count on using them everywhere you go. You may not be able to use them on public computers, so always ask ahead of time. Find out more about the advantages of flash drives and discover some additional tips for using them.
