Collaborating on a Writing Project

Monday April 16, 2007

Group projects can be good or bad—depending on your group and your topic. On the good side, you can count on other students to do part of the work!

Now for the bad side. Group work can be confusing, annoying, and frustrating. It can be a real challenge to get organized and to make sure that each student does an equal share of the work. This challenge is greatest when it comes to collaborating on a written assignment.

There is a program that makes the collaboration easy. Google Docs is a word processing program that enables students in different locations to work on a paper that’s stored safely online. Each student can access, write, and edit the paper through Internet access in his or her own home. There is even a feature that enables you and others to see what changes were made, when the changes were made, and by whom the changes were made.

Find out how to write a group paper with this easy-to-follow tutorial for collaborating with Google Docs.
