Before You Study Pre-Algebra

Tuesday April 24, 2007

Are you getting a headache just thinking about taking pre-algebra? Sometimes it helps to read about math concepts a lot first, before you start jumping into actual problems. Some students need to hear things explained in a very basic way before they can work toward a deeper understanding.

As in most fields of study, your learning method and pace will depend on your learning style.

If the notion of taking an algebra course is causing a little anxiety, you should try finding the most basic explanations you can for the underlying concepts, and then start building upon your understanding little by little. You can by test this approach starting with this basic explanation of the order of operations and see if that helps. Good luck!
