Dig a Dinosaur Vacation?

Wednesday May 30, 2007

Is your family looking for an educational experience this summer? If so, and if you are a budding paleontologist, you might want to work a dinosaur dig into your summer schedule.

One exciting possibility is waiting at The Judith River Dinosaur Institute, where a professional staff offers week-long programs at a real site in Montana.

Warning: this is not a fun and game program. Only serious future paleontologists need apply! This program involves real-life training and a lot of hard, dirty work. If that sounds like fun to you, you may want to read more.

Another opportunity takes place in Colorado, at the Museum of Western Colorado. Here, families can choose between a one-day dig or a five-day program. That means it might be easier to fit this program into your family’s summer schedule. Check out the 2007 schedule for more information.

Remember, programs like these are popular but they are not cheap. They can fill up early and come with a big price tag! Be sure to talk with your parents and act now if you are interested in a dinosaur dig.
