Clickers in the Classroom

Wednesday February 6, 2008

There’s a new technology coming to classrooms that might make test review day a little more enjoyable. The New York Times reports that a “clicker” tool has emerged and is being put to use in a unique way.

The device was designed to gauge and report the response of a large audience. Some teachers have found that by using this device like the “buzzers” on a game show they generate a lot of excitement and interest among students. The clickers can be used to create quiz bowl-like competitions that encourage students to think and become more involved in class discussions.

What do you think? Could such a device spice up your class time a little? Let us know if you’d like to see this technology in your classroom!
