Grades and Self-Confidence

Monday February 11, 2008

Is school performance affected by self-confidence levels? You bet it is!

Have you ever failed to raise your hand in class to answer a question because you were too shy or embarrassed, only to discover later that your answer would have been correct? You didn't assert yourself because you lacked in self-confidence. This failure to assert yourself can certainly affect your grades.

Sometimes students don't answer an essay question or another test question because they fear their answers will sound dumb. Again, those students often realize too late that their hunches were correct. Don't make this mistake!

Your self-confidence level will determine how you perform and how you respond to many situations. If you think you may lack in self-confidence, you should take steps to work on your self-image and your confidence.
