Remember the Classics

Wednesday July 9, 2008

If you find yourself looking for a good read at the beach, you might consider reading classics like The Red Badge of Courage, To Kill a Mockingbird, or Animal Farm if you’re heading for college any time soon.

Classic books are famous for a reason. Not only can you soak in a lot about beautiful writing, you can learn a lot about life as you read them. Many classic books have profound themes that are relevant for young adults today, even if they were written one or two hundred years ago.

Do yourself a favor and mix a few good classics into your leisure reading this summer. You’ll enjoy yourself and pick up a few critical reading skills that you’ll need later in life.
