Mark Your Calendars!

Saturday July 12, 2008

The upcoming school year will hold a lot of special events that can prove to be pivotal in your future. For some students, the science fair will be the most important event of the year. Others look forward to a college fair where they'll have an opportunity to speak with a representative from the college of their dreams.

One of the first things you should do this school year is to mark the most important dates of the year on your calendar. If necessary, you should also work backward from your important event and give yourself reminder prompts. For example, you may need to write "prepare for art exhibition" six weeks before the actual event date.

By noting these dates well ahead of time, you will set a mental framework for the year. Somewhere in the back of your mind you'll always know those important dates are coming up on you. No more surprises, and no more missed opportunities!
