Make and Share Flashcards Online

Monday August 11, 2008

FlashcardDB (database) is a site that offers free flashcards online. I like this site for a few reasons.

The first good thing about this site is that you can use a ready-made set of flashcards or you can create your very own set. There are currently 100,000 flashcards existing on the site under various topics, and you can browse through the different collections and practice without having to create your own set. On the other hand, you or your class or your study group can make up a set of your very own. If you want, you can make your collection private so that others can’t access it.

The second great thing about this flashcard site is that it has a built-in system to monitor your progress and to make your study most effective. The site builder used a method called the Leitner System to make sure that the terms you struggle with are repeated more often.

Want to try it out? You can sample the existing flashcards without creating an account or without providing an email account. Let me know what you think!
