Writing Your Life Story

Sunday August 31, 2008

When you start a new school year, a new job, or a new leadership role, you may be expected to give a presentation or write an essay about your life. Some people love talking about themselves, but others dread the thought!

One thing you don't have to worry about when writing your autobiography is whether your life is interesting enough to share. In How to Write Your Autobiography, I provide tips to help you identify the events or traits that make you different from most people in the world.

Think you're boring? Consider this:

  • Some people have never ridden a subway or a taxi.
  • Some people have never seen an eagle, skunk, deer, or a bear in the wild.
  • Some people have never been in a building with more than three floors.
  • Some people have never seen the ocean.
  • Some have never been on a real farm.

If you've ever done any of these things, you have an interesting story to tell. Find out why you really are special and why you have a fabulous autobiography to write!
