Do You Have Chronic "B" Syndrome?
Are you a straight-B student? If so, I have news for you. You're probably not living up to your potential.
OK, I admit this is my own personal theory, but I believe that any students who gets B's consistently could probably be earning A's. I'm not talking about the student who gets a few A's, mostly B's, and some C's, and ends up with an average of a B every time, no matter what. That sounds like an average hard-working student to me. But if you never break a sweat and sail along with consistent B's on your work and your report card, you might have the chronic B syndrome. And, yes, I just made that up.
The chronic B student:
- Waits until the day before a project is due, works like mad, and turns in a fairly good product.
- Never reviews his/her notes until the night before a test.
- Doesn't get out of bed until a parent threatens him/her.
- Shows up late for school at least once a week
- Doesn't study until the night before a test.
- Is happy with B's.
The chronic B student puts off assignments and doesn't use a planner and gets decent grades anyway. Hmmm--are you experiencing any of these symptoms?
If you are, you might want to take a moment to consider whether you're holding yourself back from reaching the goals you really want to achieve. If you're planning to go to the big state university or the famous research college with the fabulous football team, you might want to upgrade some study habits.
