Gift Ideas for Teachers

Sunday December 14, 2008

Teachers can be so difficult to shop for! You don’t want to be too personal, too funny, too cheap, too anything! I’ve put together a few of my favorite ideas when it comes to gifts for teachers.

Baskets are a great idea, because you can design a great, personalized gift without going broke. This is a gift you can buy with several friends, so you can go all pitch in to make a great gift without breaking the bank. One person can buy the basket and the others can buy the gifts!

  • Chocolate lover’s basket: Does your teacher love chocolate? You can put together a basket with chocolate bars, chocolate cake mix, chocolate covered cherries, and more.
  • Cozy winter basket: Fill the basket with a cozy lap blanket, a pair of slippers, muffin mix, and hot chocolate.
  • Pamper basket: Include great-smelling shampoo, lotion, nail polish, bubble bath, and other items your teacher might enjoy.
  • Classic books basket: If you’re really on a tight budget, you can shop at a used book store and find second-hand classics to fill your basket. If your teacher is a parent, you can throw in a few vintage story books.
  • Cookie collection: Include cute cookie cutters, cookie mixes, baking sheet, decorating supplies, and a cookbook.
  • Chef collection: Find some interesting pastas and throw in cookbooks, rolling pin, chef’s hat, and apron.
You get the idea! Use your imagination and put together a fun and interesting basket to match your own teacher’s interests.
