Would you like to do some deep sea exploration and research? You can start right away as a citizen scientist!
NEPTUNE Canada is an organization involved in undersea exploration - but they are a bit deluged with evidence.
They've recorded thousands of hours of underwater video, and they need extra eyes to watch the clips and analyze the results! Together with the University of Victoria's Centre for Global Studies, they've made your participation easy and fun by developing a game called Digital Fishers.
Here's how it works:
- First you watch a short 15 second segment of video.
- As you view the sea floor and the animals of the deep sea, you can describe what you see by selecting from boxes that are provided below the video screen. The choices include things like sea life, water clarity, and objects.
- You may choose to fill in the comment boxes with more information.
