Personal Interview

For a personal interview, use the following format:

Person Interviewed. Type of Interview (personal, telephone, email). Date.

  • As tempting as it may be, don't list your relationship to the person. It might feel weird referring to your grandfather or other relative so formally, but it's the rule!

  • List this source whether you use a direct quote or not. If you consulted with someone about your topic, use him/her as a source.

  • Personal interviews make great sources. Use them whenever you can.
