Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge
What Happened?
We took a bus to the Okefenokee Swamp park and road boat tours around the waterways. It was a little bit scary seeing the alligators everywhere, especially when they jumped out of the water. I was worried they would jump into our boat. Some of them were just laying around the park everywhere. I could get close enough to take pictures.
We also saw cranes and woodpeckers.
Lessons Learned
- Native Americans called the swamp Land of the Trembling Earth.
